Is London shopping expensive?

From Selfridge's to Primark, London shopping presents a range of options in central areas. The prices vary, but the most popular Oxford Street and High Street Kensington shopping is affordable. Selfridge's tends to be pricy so it's good to visit during sales and maybe get something more exclusive for a better price. Knightsbridge shopping is expensive with Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Burberry occupying the place.

London Oxford Street shopping offers a range of brands to choose from. Mostly occupied by women's clothing brands like Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Next, New Look, Monsoon, River Island, Marks & Spencer, French Connection, Jane Norman, Gap, H&M, Mexx, Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Ann Harvey, Zara, Top Shop and Urban Outfitters as well as shoe shops like Russell and Bromley, Faith, Clarks, Aldo. The London Oxford Street also has a Mother care shop, The Perfume Shop and the Disney Store. These shops are considered average priced. Primark has very attractive prices, probably the lowest in Oxford Street, where clothes cost just a few pounds. No wonder the store is always stuffed with people.

If you love antiques, Portobello Market in London is ideal to get it original and cheaper than in regular antique shops in Notting Hill. It is a good area to find artsy jewellery, accessories, furniture and clothes. Prices vary, but mostly they are reasonable. Notting Hill is loved by collectors - you can cheaply buy whatever you can find there for your collection - books, stamps, old records. You can also purchase something hand-made or individually designed.

Camden market, a large craft and clothing place, is popular with young people. You can buy original clothes and accessories there quite cheaply as well as at Spitalfields Market.

It is a good idea to stay at any central London hotels for your shopping in London as from there it is an easy access to the main London shopping places. The London Paddington area is ideal for Oxford Street shopping, Kensington is best for High Street and Knightsbridge shops. Notting Hill is walking distance from the Hyde Park hotels and both Camden Market and Spitalfields Market can be easily reached from the London Paddington area.

Don't be indecisive about spending money whilst shopping in London as it's an incredible shopping experience!
