'Love Never Dies' Now Playing in London
Love Never Dies is the much-awaited sequel to Andrew Lloyd Webber's phenomenally successful Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom has enjoyed earnings of £3 billion worldwide and has been viewed by over 100 million people in more than 25 countries.
On Tuesday 9 March 2010 at the London Adelphi Theatre, Love Never Dies opened with Ramin Karimloo as the Phantom and Sierra Boggess as the lovely Christine. The music was written by Lloyd Webber, Ben Elton, and Frederick Forsyth with Glenn Slater's lyrics.
The show is set in 1907, 10 years after the Phantom disappeared from the Paris Opera House, and takes place in the fairgrounds of Coney Island in New York. Christine receives a mysterious invitation to perform at the funfair in NY. She arrives in NY with her husband Raoul and their son Gustave, only to discover it is the Phantom who has lured her across the ocean to sing.
