At the National Maritime Museum in London, you can learn more about the great explorers like Sir Francis Drake, Christopher Columbus and Horatio Nelson to name a few, who ventured out on their maiden voyages to discover the world through the ages. As well as their many ships that were much as part of history as the great explorers themselves. Piracy between 1650 and 1720 was rife with many thousands out to sabotage ships as they travelled through the oceans. You can learn about why these pirates attacks were often successful and much more about maritime history at the National Maritime Museum in London.

Entrance is free to the exhibition. If you have time take a visit to the Royal Observatory and Queens House next door. A great day out for all the family!
