Peter Pan Cup Swimming Race 2010 London: A wild and chilly tradition! On Christmas Day morning, the hardy members of the Serpentine Swimming Club London will plunge into the wintery waters of the Hyde Park Lake to battle in the Peter Pan Cup Swimming Race '10 in London.

With temperatures close to zero, it's just as well the swimmers braving the icy waters have the incentive of the Peter Pan Cup to compete for - this 100 yard Peter Pan Cup Swimming Race dates from 1904 when J.M. Barrie, author of "Peter Pan" presented the cup to the winner.

Spectators are welcome at the Peter Pan Cup Swimming Race '10 in London; a stroll across Hyde Park to the Serpentine is a good way to work-up an appetite for Christmas Lunch. If you are brave enough to take the ice-cold lake temperatures on Christmas Day morning, make sure you have pre-registered yourself with the club in advance. The lakeside atmosphere is wonderful and to maintain the theme, you could also visit the famous statue of Peter Pan in adjacent Kensington Gardens.
